and of reduced derivatives with 5, 12, and 24 electrons have been recorded. IV{40 signals are consistent with the presence of tetravalent tungsten in the reduced species. In particular the 12Fderivative does not contain WV but WIv and WV1 \_ m equal amounts. Valence band spectra show the W(Sd) level
