The World's Production of Metals. ANON. (Mon. Scient., Mercure, v, 2i.)--There were produced in I9O9., 844,IOO tons of copper, about ioo,ooo tons more:than the previous year, and the consumption increased from 643,700 tons in 19o8 to 728,8oo tons in 19o 9 . The United States consumed 318,9oo tons in 19o9, Germany consumed I79,IOO tons, England IO9,IOO and France 73,IOO.

Of lead I,O52,5oo tons were produced. Europe produced 5o5,-
