Joint declaration of summit conference of indo-chinese peoples: Called by Sihanouk and attended by Laotian and Vietnamese communist delegations, the β€œsummit conference” was important mainly for its apparent agreement with Hanoi's position that the war had become an Indochina war and required tighter coordination. The presence of Chou En-lai at the April 25 session was not reported in the declaration. The joint declaration was issued to the press on April 27, 1970 by Sihanouk in Peking; it was also released on the same date in Hanoi, Sam Neua (Laos), and β€œSouth Vietnam.” Peking Review, Special Issue (May 8, 1970); excerpts.
