The spectra of the title compounds have been recorded and interpreted. On this basis, the structures of the anhydrous compounds Be(OOCH)\*, Be(OOCMe),, Zn(OOCMe), are predicted to have tetrahedral coordination with the carboxylate ions acting as bidentate ligands.
The tetramethylpnikogenonium ions Γ°CH 3 Γ 4 X ΓΎ (X ΒΌ N, P, As, Sb) have been studied by infrared and Raman spectroscopy.
