✦ Synopsis

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of F-type topological spaces and to establish a variational principle and a fixed point theorem in the kind of spaces, which extend Ekeland's variational principle and Caristi's fixed point theorem, respectively.

## Abstract In this paper, we introduce an iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for an __Ξ±__ ‐inverse strongly monotone mapping in a Hilbert space. We show that the sequence converge

The notion of a ⌿, C -contraction type multivalued mapping is introduced. This notion is a generalization of the notion of C-contraction introduced by T. L. Hicks Ž .
