โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

This paper presents the results of the calculation of the standard deviations of the mean daily temperature at selected Canadian stations. The figures present further proof that winter temperatures are more variable than summer temperatures, and that a water surface moderates the temperature extremes of stations under its influence. The results also give further weight to a hypothesis advanced in a preceding paper that the changes in Canada from winter to summer conditions and vice versa tend to occur abruptly and not in a smooth curve.
