Solubilities of magnesium acetate, calcium acetate, barium acetate, cobalt acetate, nickel acetate, copper acetate, and zinc acetate in water were determined in the temperature range T = (278.15 to 348.15) K and compared with the literature data.

β¦ Synopsis
Vapour pressures of water over saturated solutions of magnesium, calcium, nickel and zinc acetates were determined as a function of temperature. The vapour pressures served to evaluate the water activities, osmotic coefficients and molar enthalpies of vaporization. Molar enthalpies of solution of magnesium acetate tetrahydrate, sol H m (T = 294.71 K; m = 0.01 mol β’ kg -1 ) = -(15.65 Β± 0.97) kJ β’ mol -1 ; calcium acetate, sol H m (T = 297.18 K; m = 0.01 mol β’ kg -1 ) = -(28.15 Β± 0.28) kJ β’ mol -1 ; zinc acetate dihydrate, sol H m (T = 297.36 K; m = 0.01 mol β’ kg -1 ) = -(22.49 Β± 0.90) kJ β’ mol -1 and lead acetate trihydrate, sol H m (T = 297.36 K; m = 0.0086 mol β’ kg -1 ) = (22.46 Β± 0.94) kJ β’ mol -1 , were determined calorimetrically.
