✦ Synopsis
Vapour pressures have been determined from the ?,-point to 1.3°K and the results of our measurements of isotherms in the same region have been compared with these measurements. A provisional table with corrections to the temperature scale 1937 2) has been deduced from them, giving a negative deviation from the scale 1937 at the ),-point of 0.013 of a degree which decreases linearly to zero at 1.55°K. From there on a close agreement with Bleane y and Simon's scale 3) seems probable. A discussion of the possible errors in Keesom and Schmidt's measurements is given. *) For a description of the apparatus see 6).

New measurements on the vapour pressure curve of helium were made. They gave temperatures which throughout are slightly higher than those calculated according to the formulae which form the basis of the temperature scale 1932, to a maximum of 0.026 degree for helium II at 1.6 ~ K, and of 0.015 degre
## LETTER TO THE EDITOR The specific heat of liquid helium from 1.5°K down to 0.4°K. We measured the specific heat of liquid helium under its saturated vapour pressure from 1.5 clown to 0.4°K. The temperatures below I. I°K were obtained by adiabatic demagnetization of iron ammonium alum. In this
