PROBLEM
This study has two objectives: First, to assess the validities of some standard intellectual and perceptual-motor measures for predicting school achievement in grade I and grade 11. Second, to determine the relationships between a psychiatric rating of personality adequacy in kindergarten, and achievement and other performance measures in the first two grades of school.
METHOD

The Ss were 103 middle class children comprising the entire kindergarten population of two Montreal suburban schools. The schools were selected from a listing of Montreal schools to represent a typical middle cless background.
