✦ Synopsis


In designing engineering structures one should take into account explicitly the variability of design parameters and of natural forcing. One method to anaiyse the effect of such variability is to carry out a systematic sensitivity analysis. This usually involves a large number of computations. This paper describes a computer based support system that helps the designer to carry out these computations and to interpret the results. The use of this system is illustrated with an application to the modification of a harbour.
