✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This paper describes the procedure and results of using resistivity data in calculating the amount of precipitation in aluminium–copper–magnesium alloys based on the Johnson–Mehl–Avrami (JMA) theory. Two alloys have been studied, Al–4.38%Cu–1.67%Mg and Al–4.5%Cu–0.56%Mg. The results have demonstrated that resistivity data can be treated to reveal the degree of transformation, for periods when there is a constant increase in its value.
