β¦ Synopsis
In the first two weeks of life the pregranulosa cells located in the sex cords of the rabbit ovary become increasingly flattened and elongated to isolate and encircle individual oocytes. During this period there is a marked increase in the amount of intracytoplasmic lipid in the pregranulosa cells. The lipid is associated in clusters with adjacent mitochondria. The accumulation of lipid deposits within the pregranulosa cells suggests that the newborn rabbit ovary may be capable of steroid synthesis.

We reviewed the clinical records of 32 patients with granulosa cell tumor of the ovary treated at the Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center (WCCC) between 1970 and 1982. Eleven of these patients were treated with one or more chemotherapeutic regimens, yielding a total of 22 treatment trials. Objective re
