Abstract
The reaction zone of an heterogeneous explosive is the sequence of micro‐thermal explosions followed by a volume combustion until the end of the reactions. It is shown that the physical and geometrical parameters characterizing the explosive play a different and frequently opposite role in the two steps of the reaction zone.
