โœฆ Synopsis

Consideration is given to the problem of determining the distribution of stress in a composite solid consisting of two ha/f-planes (of different elastic moduli) joined together when there is a prescribed distribution of body-force acting in one of them. The foUowing cases are considered: (a) where one half-plane rests on the other, maintaining contact along their common boundary; (b) where the two half-planes are bonded together; (c) where the lower half-plane is completely rigid.
