✦ Synopsis
Swmary : The total synthesis of (+)-colorata-4(13),8_dienolide (i), a sesquiterpene with a rearranged drimane skeleton, is described using 66, 8a6-dimethyl-5-methylene_3,4,4aa, 5,6,7,8,8a-octahydro-1(2H)-naphtalenone (10) as a key intermediate. A new annelation method for butenolides via hydrolysis of a thiophenyl furan is reported.

## Abstract A convergent total synthesis of 13‐hydroxyisocyclocelabenzine was developed. (3__S__)‐Methyl 3‐amino‐3‐phenylpropanoate (**4**) was used as the chiral building block. The 3,4‐dihydro‐4‐hydroxyisoquinolin‐1(2__H__)‐one derivative (**5**), the key fragment for the total synthesis, was pre
