✦ Synopsis

The equilibrium phases of the Ti-V system are (1) the liquid, (2) the close-packed hexagonal (~) solid solution restricted to temperatures below the a/~ transformation of pure Ti (882 ~ and to Ti-rich alloys, and (3) the body-centered cubic (13) solid solution with a complete range of solid solubility above 882 ~ The solubility of V in ~(Ti) is large compared to the solubility of Mo, Nb, W, or Ta, which form analogous phase diagrams. The diagram presented in this evaluation does not differ significantly from versions of previous compilations.
