✦ Synopsis

Colt Ryder is the Thousand Dollar Man, a vigilante who – with the assistance of his canine friend, Kane – helps those who can’t find justice through the normal channels, men and women who are forgotten by society. Only this time – against his better judgement – he is dragged into doing a job for James Harris, the President of the United States himself.

Callum Baxter, just fourteen years old, has gone missing. His mother is fraught, beside herself with worry, and turns to the boy’s father for help. Only Callum’s father is James Harris, the boy an illegitimate result of an extramarital affair that the president doesn’t want anyone to know about, especially with an election just around the corner. Harris is worried that his son has been kidnapped for political purposes, and – unable to trust even his own secret service with the truth – the president turns to the Thousand Dollar Man for help instead.

As the missing-persons case becomes more mysterious and troubling, however, Colt is left not knowing who to trust – or even if he will escape the urban jungle of Washington DC with his life.
