Results of highly precise local density FLAPW calculations of the electronic structure and properties of the T c superconductor, Ba2Sr2CaCu208, are presented and compared with the earlier Cu-O systems. Here too, charge transfer excitations (excitons) appear responsible for the high T c.
Wide variety of spectra of high-Tc superconductors is explained systematically by the proximity electron tunneling spectroscopy of dx2.y2-wave superconductors. The existence of ZBCPs in many high-Tc superconductor junctions is one of the evidences for d-wave paring states in this material.
