The precise gas viscosity measurements of Kestin and co-workers and a simple capillary viscometer have been used to test the classical slip correction at 25OC and one atmosphere for pyrex glass and stainless steel surfaces. Data are also presented for mixtures of helium and srgon, and an empirical e
