✦ Synopsis

In vitro assays for the screening of developmental toxicity potential have been under development for approximately 15 years.

During that period, we have learned that assays consisting of primary cultures of embryonic tissues or cells, intact embryos in culture, or free-living embryos are capable of distinguishing between mammalian developmental toxicants and nondevelopmental toxicants with an accuracy of 280%.

## Abstract **BACKGROUND:** Nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most commonly prescribed to pregnant women. Some case‐control studies have linked the NSAIDs aspirin and indomethacin with a risk of congenital abnormalities and low birthweight. High doses of aspirin produce de

The chromosome aberration assay in vitro is a useful and sensitive test for detection of genotoxins. However, aberrations can occur secondary to toxicity, with compounds that do not react with DNA and are not genotoxic in vivo. Thus, some positive results in the in vitro aberration assay are not rel

## Abstract Reconstruction of bone defects in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery is a relevant problem. In regenerative medicine, autologous bone is not available sufficiently. The full replacement of autologous bone grafts is required. A promising research field is the bone engineering. Espe
