✦ Synopsis


The two-dimensional Laplace integral transform technique has been applied to get the temperature distributions in the molten layer of a thin-ΓΏlm coated on a substrate, the solid part of the ΓΏlm and the substrate during the irradiation with a pulsed laser. The derivation has taken into account the cooling and the temperature-dependent absorption coe cient of the irradiated surface. As an illustrative example computations were carried out on an aluminum thin-ΓΏlm coated on a glass substrate.
