โœฆ Synopsis

Tcmperaturc-dependrnt intensit) data for two-photon excitation and second harmonic generation signals phase nwclwd onto the polariron brrtnches of the sin@t a-e\citon of naphthalene are presented. The data are shoun to be in qualitatht agreement with the polariton fusion model which accounts for strong exciton-photon coupling. In this model the polariton swttering frequency and group velocity determine the branching ratios for the above signals.

The homogeneous optical dephasing times (T,) and the non-photochemical hole burning (NPHB) linewidths of resorutin in glycerol glass are reported from 1.1 to 25.5 K. At low temperature, the linewidths obtained from NPHB are substantially wider than the linewidths (l/x T2) obtained from photon echo m
