β¦ Synopsis
A brief review of names which have been applied to hybrids between Triticum and Secale is given . Although Triticosecale has priority over Triticale it is proposed to conserve the latter because of its common usage in the past and for the sake of stability . Reasons are given for naming the amphiploid species and for applying hybrid formulae to F r hybrids and their segregates .
