The synthesis of novel oxygen-bearing ligands has been achieved by the mono-and dialkylation of a range of polyamines with 4,4-dimethyl-3,5,8-trioxabicyclo[5.1.0]octane (1). Subsequent deprotection of the acetal resulted in the formation of hydroxyl-bearing ligands.
