β¦ Synopsis
The synthesis of bis(trifluoromethyl)xenon was first reported by our research group in 1979 [l]. Since then considerable progress has been made on the characterization and structure of bis(trifluoromethyl)xenon, Xe(CF3)2. We will report on the 13 C NMR spectrum, high resolution mass spectrum and more on the vibrational spectrum and EXAFS spectra, In this talk we shall also describe the synthetic techniques and the properties of the novel compound, bis(trifluoromethyl)xenon.
