✦ Synopsis

The syntheses of the molecules Ni(PMe& and Pf(PMe& are reported for the first time. The platinum compound is much less stable than the nickel analogue. Raman and i.r. spectra have been obtained for the nickel compound and a complete vibrational assignment is proposed on the basis of Td molecular symmetry. For the platinum compound only the i.r. spectrum has been obtained.
