Abstract

A novel azomacrocycle containing the 1,3,4‐oxadiazole ring has been prepared from 2,5‐bis[3‐(4‐hydroxyphenylazo)phenyl]‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole 5 and 2,5‐bis(2‐chloromethlylphenyl)‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole 8. The coupling reaction between the diazonium salt 4 and bisphenol A has been reported.
