✦ Synopsis
The X-ray crystal structures of cyclopalladated complexes are reported. Reaction of {[Pd(dmba)(m-Cl)] 2 }, (1), (dmba ¼ N(CH 3 ) 2 -CH 2 C 6 H 5 ) with triphenylphosphine gave crystals containing {chloro -(triphenylphosphino)-bis[N,N-dimethylaminobenzyl-C 1 ,N ] palladium(II)} (2a) and {trans-bis(triphenylphosphino)-chloro-[N,N-dimethylaminozyl-C]palladium(II)} (2b). Complex (1) crystallises in the space group P2ð1Þ=c with a ¼ 7:849ð1Þ A ˚, b ¼ 15.635(3) A ˚, c ¼ 8:352ð1Þ A ˚, b ¼ 109:298, and D calc ¼ 1:895 g cm 23 for Z ¼ 2: Complexes (2a) and (2b) crystallize together in the space group P2(1)/n with a ¼ 9:964ð2Þ A ˚, b ¼ 34:228ð5Þ A ˚, c ¼ 18:127ð3Þ A ˚, b ¼ 91:91 8, and D calc ¼ 1:439 g cm 23 .
