Abstract

The AA. have studied the effects of testosterone administration and of temperature increase on the subcommissural organ (SCO) of Lacerta s. sicula Raf. castrated during the winter. Testosterone administered to specimens at environment temperature did not cause stimulation of the SCO. It was sufficient to raise the temperature to obtain stimulation. At 28° C the SCO of castrated animals was also stimulated, but after more time and less intensely than in normal animals.
