Twenty-six year old Tammy Fletcher is a beautiful, successful novelist, and her previous four novels have been on the New York Times best sellers list. She begins her fifth novel and hopes it will be just as successful as the previous four. Since her parents were viciously murdered five years ago, she has found it difficult to deal with the day-to-day activities of normal life, and the fact that her twin brother wants nothing to do with her or the family doesn’t help her emotional state of mind.
She finds it impossible to deal with her emotions and continually prays to God to have her parents be alive again, hoping they will magically appear, but they never do. She spends hours and hours high above the small Kentucky town sitting on a rock ledge, praying and contemplating life and death. One day she sees someone break into her house from her ledge, and this begins another series of emotional breakdowns.
