The ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION AND PATTERNS OF DRINKING IN CANADA The level of alcohol consumption and patterns of drinking have undergone significant changes in Canada in recent years. Total consumption per person aged 15 or older increased from 8.9 litres of absolute alcohol in 1970 to 11.14 litres in 1975, and then levelled off during the second half of the decade.
