The goal of the paper is to study the structure of the eigenfunctions of the onedimensional Schrodinger equation from the point of view of the Euler theorem. It turns out that analog of exponent is exponentially increasing solution. Sometimes linear combinations of such solutions cancel each other at infinity and then we obtain an eigenfunction from Lz(R').

A new approach to the computational solution of the Schfbdinger equation is based on the partial transformation of the Hamiltonian to a tridiagonal matrix. The method is especially suited to tight-binding Hamiltonians encountered in solid state physics and permits of the order of iodegrees of freedo
