In the course of our studies on aroma constituents of Turkish tobacco, 1) a new anomalous terpenoid acid "3~-hydroxy-4S,9-dimethyl-6E,9E-dodecadienedioic acid" (Ia) was isolated. In this communication, we wish to report the isolation and structural elucidation of this new compound.
