In this paper, the author makes use of a recent development in the theory of triple integral equations to derive formulae for the stress intensity factor and crack shape of a Gritfith crack which is opened by a thin symmetric wedge. The use of these formulae is then illustrated by a consideration of two particular cases.

ZUSAMMENFASSUNG

In dieser Arbeit beniitzt der Autor eine neuere Entwicklung in der Theorie dreifacher Integralgleichungen, um Formeln fiir den Spannungsintensitatsfaktor und die Form eines Griffithschen Risses abzuleiten, Welcher durch einen dtinnen symmetrischen Keil ge0ffnet wird. Der Gebrauch dieser Formeln wird dann durch Betrachtung zweier Sonderfalle erl~iutert.
