Edith Nesbit was an English author best known for children's literature. Nesbit wrote over 60 books in her short life, including classics such as The Railway Children and The Enchanted Castle.
There are six boys and girls in the Bastable family. Their mother is dead and their father's business is not doing well. The children decide to help restore the family fortune. They try digging for treasure, being detectives, writing poetry. They answer an advertisment in the paper that leads them into one adventure after another.
