Rheological studies of liquid crystalline systems based on sodium decylsulphate are reported. It was verified that for low shear rates, disk-like (ND) micellar nematic mesophases show typical pseudo-plastic rheopectic behaviour, associated with a favourable orientation of anisometric micelles in the

A study about the magnetic behaviour of magnetite nanoparticles diluted in lyotropic liquid crystals was carried out. It was corroborated that micellar phases of the liquid crystal suppressed the superparamagnetism of the nanoparticles by rising the blocking temperature beyond the room temperature.
