Complex formation between lanthanide or transition metal ions and dicarboxylate ligands have been investigated potentiometrically by a few workers only. Practically all these 1 -3 investigations have been restricted to complexes of the type ML,. However in the case of itaconate the low ratio of the

โฆ Synopsis
It IS seen from the Table that for pigment "A" a very small and nearly constant amount of PTCD IS extracted after the third extractron Presumably this IS mainly due to hydrolysis of the pigment itself This pigment IS therefore reasonably stable to alkaline hydrolysis and its PTCD content is thus determined accurately. In the case of pigment "13" it IS seen that, after the first extraction, the amount of PTCD extracted IS larger than with pigment "A" and more variable It IS evrdent that in this case the pigment IS less \tablc to alkaline hydrolysis and only an approxrmate estimate of its PTCD content IS possible.
