Abstract
In this article, the existence of additive BIB designs is discussed with direct and recursive constructions, together with investigation of a property of resolvability. Such designs can be used to construct infinite families of BIB designs. In particular, we obtain a series of B(s^n^, ts^m^, ฮป__t__ (ts^m^โโโ1) (s^nโm^โโโ1)/[2(s^m^โโโ1)]) for any positive integer ฮป, such that s^n^ (s^n^โโโ1) ฮปโโกโ0 (mod s^m^ (s^m^โโโ1) and for any positive integer t with 2โโคโtโโคโs^nโm^, where s is an odd prime power. Connections between additive BIB designs and other combinatorial objects such as multiply nested designs and perpendicular arrays are discussed. A construction of resolvable BIB designs with vโ=โ4__k__ is also proposed. ยฉ 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Combin Designs 15: 235โ254, 2007

## Abstract In addition to the first part we prove independently of the model some theorems on properties of balanced block designs. Then we propose nine methods of construction of BIB and prove theorems in connection with these methods. In a table we give a survey on block designs with __v__$25 an

An a-resolvable BIBD is a BIBD with the property that the blocks can be partitioned into disjoint classes such that every class contains each point of the design exactly times. In this paper, we show that the necessary conditions for the existence of -resolvable designs with block size four are sufยฎ
