✦ Synopsis
Measurements of the absorption coefficients in the spectral range 0.4--4.5 /am are reported for smokes from wood. agglomerate flax, polypropylene, and polyether foam in flaming or smouldering combustion. The effects of gaseous and particulate absorption are separately considered and discussed.
