โœฆ Synopsis

A BS TRA C T Timber platform foors are often found to perform better in the laboratoo, than in the field and the reasons for this are not well understood. The main parameters that affect the sound insulation of this type of floor have been investigated and the results are reported in this paper. The parameters investigated are: density of resilient layer; effect of absorbing material; effect of joist spacing; and control of flanking transmission. The findings from the study allow advice to be given on the design of this type of floor.
