The McMath Solar Telescope was dedicated October 1962. It is part ot" a complex of telescopes located at Kitt Peak, 75 km Southwest of Tucson, Ariz., at an altitude of 2090 m, latitude 31~
North, longitude 7h26m23 ~ West. The main offices and headquarters of the observatory are located on a block of land adjacent to the campus of the University of Arizona in the city of Tucson. Here also are located the observatory's large optical shop, a well-equipped instrument shop, electronics division, engineering, administration, various measuring engines and the observatory's CDC 6400 computer.
A. STAFF
The Kitt Peak National Observatory has a total roster of 250 people. The solar group is one of three divisions: Solar, Space and Stellar. Its staff is made up of (summer 1968): seven scientists -J.
