โœฆ Synopsis


The size and rate of shedding of wakes of single drops were measured for seven systems and for drop Reynolds numbers of 137-798. The ratio of wake to drop volumes is in general independent of drop size and interfacial tension and is a linear function of the relative density. T'he distance required to shed the equivalent of the wake contents is essentially constant in all cases. The behavior of the wake parameters is consistent with the kinematic behavior of the drops.
