✦ Synopsis
In a copper dimcr, two situations. I and 11, may lead fo a J= 0 singlet-triplet energy gap. In situation I. the metal ions do not interact and all the contributions to Jvanish. In situation II. the metal ions interact, but the positive and negtivc contributions cancel. The aim of this lerter is to specify the differences between these situations. fo analyse how they can bc distinguished from a physical point of view, particularly from EPR spectroscopy. and to propose some typical geomctrics corresponding to both situations.
