Abstract

Methods for the semitechnical preparation of pure thioacetic acid from hydrogen sulphide and acetic anhydride are described. An output of lb./hr. was obtained from a batch process and J lb./hr. from a continuous process using hydrogen sulphide generated from hydrochloric acid and sodium sulphide solution.
