✦ Synopsis

Calix[4]arene derivatives with one adenine or thymine sidearm have been synthesized and their self-association characteristics which depend on solvent, temperature and concentrations are described. Mainly Watson-Crick A-T base pairing in these systems was detected using 1 H NMR and ESI-MS.

A novel spiropyran derivative carrying a calix [4]arene group has been synthesized through incorporating two spirobenzopyran groups into one 1,3-substituent calix[4]arene derivative. Photochromic properties were studied under alternate irradiation of ultraviolet light and visible light in acetonitri

## Abstract The apparent __K__~a~ values of the formation of [1+1] cavitand‐calix[4]arene capsules, based on azinium–sulfonate electrostatic interactions, obtained by direct titration experiments are concentration dependent due to the influence of the interaction of the charged capsule components w
