A public exhibition of tile Sawyer electric light was given at tlle Hall of the Franklin Institute on Tuesday evening, Nov. 9th, under the auspices of the company, at which Mr. W. P. Tatham was invited to ~)reside. Mr. Sawyer, though present, was too unwell to address the :audience and was obliged to leave befbre the close of the meeting. Ill his absence, 5~[r. Hafthy said that the lamps would have to speak for themselves, and showed how they could be turned up or down and regulated to ally desired illuminating power by the turning of a switch. He said that Mr. Sawyer and the capitalists connected with him proposed to submit these lamps
