Abstract
The preparation of a hygrophotographic plate is described, gives excellent results in the sampling of cloud droplets, when the latter have diameters between 20 and 30 μ. To avoid the shattering of larger drops (100 to 200 μ) the plate should be smeared with a layer of castor oil. The droplets of water, owing to their density being greater than that of the oil, sink to the bottom of the oily film, are immediately absorbed by the gelatine and thus are recorded.
