β¦ Synopsis
The properties of a ratchet system rectifying the random motion of two harmonically coupled particles with arbitrary coupling strengths are studied via Langevin simulations. In comparison with the result of single particle, our results show that the average center-of-mass velocity vc of two particles is larger than the average velocity v1 of single particle in the rocking ratchet for low-to-moderate noise intensities, however, vc Β‘ v1 in the ashing ratchet. The former is due to the decrease of e ective barrier that the center-of-mass of two particles feels, and the latter is because of the distance of two di using particles across the nearest barrier increasing e ectively. Numerical results are performed for a larger parameter regime and the validation of the proposed e ective potential is illustrated.

We investigate the electronic properties in sequences of single and double-strand DNA molecules made up from the nucleotides guanine G, adenine A, cytosine C and thymine T. Using a tight-binding formulation we solve the timedependent Schro¨dinger equation to compute the spread of initially localized
The transport properties of Mg doped and undoped InN films are studied with capacitance-voltage, thermopower, and Hall mobility measurements. A positive Seebeck coefficient is observed for Mg doped InN confirming p-type conductivity, though high doping and structural defect density can lead to n-typ
