โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

While many solid tumors have been reported to contain stem cellโ€like cells termed cancer stem cells, the case for a melanoma stem cell has been debated over the last few years. Herein, we summarize current knowledge of melanomaโ€initiating cells and provide an update on recently gained knowledge regarding cancer stem cells and melanoma. J. Surg. ## Abstract It has been suggested that cancer stem cells population within the solid tumor with indefinite proliferation potential drives the growth and metastasis of cancer. In literature, these malignant stem cells also named Cancer initiating cells. Cancer stem cells exhibit low rate of division
