✦ Synopsis


Ahstrati-An equation for single-phase mass transfer at gas evolving electrodes derived in part I of this paper [ElectroAm. Acta 38, 1421 (1993).] is tested in comparison with experimental data for ions transferred to the electrode and for dissolved gas transferred from the electrode. The agreement between experiment and theory not only shows the reliability of the new equation but evidences the action of a hitherto disregarded mass transfer mechanism effective in a low current density range in absence of forced flow.
